“Wipe” these out of your routine!
Even though the majority of us are busier than we’d like to be – and more tired at the end of the day than we wish we were, remaining true to our daily cleansing ritual should be considered non-negotiable. This includes refusing to replace a thorough, double-cleansing of the face with the use of a face wipe!
No wipe can replace the effectiveness of a professional grade cleanser that is formulated especially for your skin type – and formulated to work in conjunction with your recommended toner and moisturizer. And no amount of “wiping” can ensure you’ve done little more than mix and drag the makeup, oil, and toxins of the day all around your face.
Not to mention the harsh ingredients contained in most of these wipes. Below are items found on the ingredient list of a very popular face wipe on the market today. Take a look!
———————————————————
MINERAL OIL
(Mineral oil! Need I say more?)
PEG-40 STEARATE
(Polyethylene Glycols are Petroleum derivatives that dissolve oil and grease and are often found in oven cleaner!)
1,2-HEXANEDIOL
(a synthetic preservative that often causes eyelid rash and irritation around the eyes)
C13-14 ISOPARAFFIN
(Paraffins in any form inhibit the skin’s ability to release toxins and can act as a sort of ‘plastic wrap,’ that can actually promote acne and other disorders.)
CERAMIDE NP, CERAMIDE AP, CERAMIDE EOP
(Did you know that cerimides are not always well-tolerated by oily or acneic skin? What you cleanse your face with should always be tailored to your skin type!)
HYDROLYZED HYALURONIC ACID
(This product boasts that it includes Hyaluronic Acid….but it doesn’t mention that it’s hydrolyzed which means its higher molecular weight only works at the surface of the skin and is not absorbed deeply enough to recognize any anti-aging benefits.)
In short, friends don’t let friends use face wipes! This is one short-cut to avoid!
